The NEST Capacity Building Path successfully started with a view to promote smart tourism.
Overview

On Friday 29 OCtober, The NEST Capacity Building Path started with a first online meeting. The action is organised and implemented by Tecnopolis PST and focuses on smart destination management, addressing every aspect of digitalisation and innovation in the tourism sector. Over the next weeks up until mid-December, it will offer to 18 participants  the chance to e-meet and develop knowledge about digital skills and tools for communication and marketing; destination management; sustainable tourism; accessibility; cultural heritage/sport and nature.

The meetings will be an occasion to promote the NEST project and its objectives and to analyse and share current scenarios, good practices and innovative tools that can help SMTEs succeed in their digital transformation while developing the competences to effectively face the challenges posed by the Covid19 pandemic.

A more qualified and implemented adoption of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, mobile applications, cloud computing and online data storage, social media as well as smart management systems and of course digital communication and marketing, can really boost the recovery of the sector.

The ultimate goal of the CBP will be to stimulate local SMTEs to change their mindsets and visions, to rethink their business models and to innovate the entire supply chain with a view to create an integrated destination ecosystem.
