Overview

The Albanian Ministry of Finance and Economy has issued a Call for participation in online sessions for Capacity Building of enterprises in the field of tourism.


The Call is financed in the framework of the NEST project and aims at empowering the small and medium tourism entreprises with innovative approaches, tools and strategies, that leverage digital technologies and networking.

The Capacity Buiding path is adressed to aspirant entrpreneurs who have original ideas for the development of tourism activities and startups. It will be organised in online sessions conducted by Prof. Edmond Kadiu, Faculty of Tourism Management at the Universiteti Bujqesor of Tirana (AL).

The online sessions will present smart ideas for a tourist destination. Participants will be able to try their hand at creating experimental cross-border tourism itineraries in the sectors of sports and nature, culture, food and wine. Also, they will have the opportunity to liaise and interact with SMEs from Italy (Puglia and Molise) and Montenegro, in order to exchange ideas and experiences as well as to create attractive joint offers in terms of destination management.

With this initiative, the NEST will favor the creation of an ‘Interreg smart destination’ strategic model, based on collaborative and user-driven innovation tools, as inspired by the Living Lab approach. The main expected results are the development of a Smart Tourism Destination Action Plan, and the creation of cross-border experiential paths valorizing natural and cultural assets as well as landscapes, traditions, folks and crafts across the three Programme countries.

Aspirant participants can apply up to ??/??/????, whereas the online sessions will be held between 3 and  21 December 2020.
